Performance Characteristics and Structural Shape of PCD Milling Cutters

A milling cutter is a rotating tool with one or more teeth used for milling, mainly used for machining flat surfaces, steps, grooves, formed surfaces, and cutting workpieces on a milling machine. PCD milling cutter is a type of milling cutter formed by welding PCD material as a cutting edge on a hard alloy or high-speed steel cutting tool substrate.

 1. Performance advantages of PCD milling cutters

 (1) The service life of cutting tools is extremely long, 20-100 times longer than that of ordinary alloy cutting tools, saving ineffective time such as tool replacement and alignment;

The high hardness, wear resistance, low friction coefficient, and strength of polycrystalline diamond are combined with the high bending strength of tungsten carbide hard alloy. The tungsten carbide hard alloy layer provides mechanical support for the diamond layer, increasing its bending strength.
