The PDC bit cutter is made of polycrystalline diamond, and a certain number of pdc cutter cutting blocks are mounted (or sintered) on the bit body.

The cutting block is made of a thin layer of artificial polycrystalline diamond (about 0.6-2.5mm) and a tungsten carbide bottom layer as a whole, and is in the shape of a flat cylinder. 

The composite piece and the cylindrical body are welded together to form a cutting element.

The structure of the PDC bit is divided into two series of steel body and matrix according to different materials and manufacturing processes.

Parabolic type: It has a larger drill surface and can be installed with more cutting blocks to improve the wear resistance and footage of the drill. Its shape can focus the lateral thrust to

the center, reduce the deviation of wellbore direction, and help to overcome the well deviation.

Double cone type: there are inner cone and outer cone, which can keep the drill bit stable, the outer cone surface is longer, and more cutting blocks can be set. When drilling a hard 

sandwich or hard ground, the top cutting block is easily damaged by the impact.

Short taper: It is good for drilling through hard interlayers, and the drill bit has a small surface area, so the hydraulic power is relatively concentrated and the cleaning is better.

The PDC bit cutting block breaks the rock by scraping and shearing. After the cutting block can cut into the formation under the effect of drilling pressure, it will move the rock forward 

under the action of torque. Make full use of the characteristics of low shear strength of rocks. The PDC bit does not have the same “clamping effect” caused by the pressure difference 

caused by the pressure difference when the rock of the roller bit is broken.
