Precautions for MCD Monocrystal Diamond Cutting Tools
The hardness of MCD monocrystal diamond cutting tool is hv9000-10000, which is the hardest material known in nature. The finished MCD tool can keep the size stable for
a long time in cutting, so it has a long service life.
In order to improve the service life of the tool and avoid unnecessary problems, please pay attention to the following points during use:
1) Do not use fingers or other objects to directly touch the diamond tip, only the workpiece;
2) Due to the hard and brittle characteristics of SCD (single crystal diamond tools), please increase the feed rate from small to large, and the feed rate from slow to fast. The
cutting amount should not exceed 0.05mm. Higher cutting speed can reduce the cutting force, while low-speed cutting will increase the cutting force, which will accelerate the
failure of tool edge collapse. Therefore, the cutting speed should not be too low when using diamond tools.
3) In the process of testing and turning, please note that the tool can not turn ferrous metals (ferrous metals), but can contact non-ferrous metals (gold, silver, copper, aluminum,
etc.) and plastics. If ferrous metal is encountered in the turning process, the tool is very likely to collapse, fracture or even be directly scrapped.
4) In the process of use, if there is wear, it can be detected by microscope. If it is within the grinding range, it can be polished repeatedly and reused for many times to save cost.
If it exceeds the measurable wear range, the tool needs to be replaced.
