After the wire drawing die is installed and debugged, the qualified workpiece can be produced according to normal conditions. This process is called the service period of the die. 

Under normal circumstances, we always hope that the shaped wire drawing die can have a service life exceeding its normal life to meet the actual production needs.

However, some defects may occur in the manufacturing process of the die, or some defects may gradually appear during the service, such as slight cracks, slight abrasion damage, 

deformation, etc., in this case, the die although there are some hidden dangers, they can continue to work. This defective state, which is not completely lost, is called the damage of 

the die.

The wire drawing die is damaged for some unknown reasons, or the die damage accumulates to a certain extent, causing the die to be damaged and cannot be used. These conditions

are called mold failure. However, if the main working parts of the shaped drawing die are damaged and the qualified workpiece cannot be punched out, it is considered to be the mold 

failure. The failure of the wire drawing die can be roughly divided into two categories according to the occurrence time: normal failure and early failure.

The drawing die is normally used in a large amount of production, and it is naturally worn or slowly deformed due to friction and plastic deformation and fatigue cracking. It is a normal 

phenomenon to fail after reaching the specified service life of the product, which is a normal failure. The mold does not meet the specified period of product design and use, and it not 

only causes early damage such as chipping, cracking, breaking, etc., but is called early failure. For early-type shaped wire drawing dies, it is necessary to find out the cause and try to

take remedial measures.
