The Dry Cutting Mode of PCBN PCD Tools
What we know for the dry cutting mode ? Such as for PCBN tools machining, pcd tools machining.
Dry cutting is the use of specific tools and their associated machining techniques to achieve the desired machining results without the use of cutting fluids.
The mechanism is that the cutting speed is high, and heat is generated in the front part of the tool, so that the workpiece material near the cutting area reaches a red
hot state, and the yield strength is lowered, thereby achieving the effect of improving cutting efficiency. A large amount of cutting heat is generated in dry cutting, which
easily causes thermal deformation of the workpiece and affects machining accuracy. Therefore, the thermal properties of the workpiece material are important factors in
determining whether the material is suitable for dry cutting. Materials with a higher melting point and a lower heat transfer number and thermal expansion coefficient are
suitable for dry cutting.
Dry cutting places high demands on the chip removal, dust and heat characteristics of the machine. The general principle of dry cutting machines is to rely on gravity to remove
debris as much as possible, often with vacuum cleaners and sealing of critical parts.
