CBN Cutting Tools for High efficiently Turning Case Hardened Steel

Case Hardened Steel is a steel that undergoes carburizing and quenching to improve surface hardness and wear resistance while maintaining proper strength and toughness at
the core. The hardness of case hardened steel is between HRC58-62, which can be divided into 3 types:
1) Low hardenability: Typical steel types such as 20 and 20Cr have low hardenability and core strength, and the critical diameter in water does not exceed 20 ~ 35mm. Only
suitable for manufacturing wear-resistant parts with small impact load, such as small shafts, pinions, piston pins, etc.
2) Medium hardenability: Typical steel types such as 20CrMnTi, etc., have higher hardenability, critical diameter in oil is about 25 ~ 60mm, good mechanical properties and process
properties, and are widely used in manufacturing to withstand high-speed medium-load, shock and wear-resistant parts, such as transmission gears, clutch shafts, etc. for automobiles
and tractors.
3) High hardenability: Typical steel types such as 18Cr2Ni4WA, etc., whose critical diameter in oil is greater than 100mm, and has good toughness. It is mainly used to manufacture
important wear parts with large cross sections and high loads, such as aircraft and tank crankshafts and gears.
